Johnny 13's Shadow, more commonly known as Shadow, is a ghost that belongs to Johnny 13. He lacks a distinct identity or personality beyond his joy for creating havoc as he is always seen smiling when he attacks. Johnny can summon him by whistling.
History
Shadow first appears in the episode "13," serving his owner Johnny 13. He forces the Fentons' Ghost Portal open to allow Johnny and Kitty through and continues to serve Johnny as he tries to woo Jazz.
It is implied by Kitty that Johnny's unlucky reputation is due at least in part to Shadow's actions, as "bad luck" occurs wheneverhe interacts with the environment. Things are seen to fall apart or malfunction when Shadow simply phases through them, which makes it appear as though said things have acted up on their own accord. Due to this trait, Tucker was briefly considered to be bad luck because Shadow had repeatedly meddled with things whenever Tucker was around.

Shadow appears again in the episode "The Ultimate Enemy," pushing a wheelchair-ridden Johnny around. While Johnny appears to have aged, Shadow has not changed at all suggesting that, while bound to serve him, he and Johnny are essentially two separate ghosts.
Shadow join the others in taking revenge on Danny until their actions frustrate Danny to the point that he develops the Ghostly Wail. Shadow and Johnny were the first victims to be blown and is seen floating unconscious and almost completely destroy by the attack.
Shadow also has some of the properties of an actual shadow, temporarily vaporizing when bright light hits him and not mixing well with water. He can also hide within Johnny's natural shadow, merging into him and becoming indistinguishable from it until he is called on as he was not seen at all under the motorcycle until he was required to hold the portal open for Johnny and Kitty.
During a few situations in which Johnny sends out Shadow, Johnny is seen without a shadow of his own briefly. However, there are also times in which Johnny is seen with a shadow even after Shadow is sent out, so this may just be an oversight.
Appearance
Shadow is a wispy black ghost, essentially a humanoid shadow with a mind of his own. He has glowing green eyes with no discernible sclera or pupils, fangs, and claws.
His "hair" wisps up into three strands, and he has a ghostly tail. He lacks a distinct resemblance to Johnny 13.
Relationships

Shadow is Johnny's partner-in-crime who serves as the source of Johnny's powers and fights most of his battles for him. Shadow is usually at Johnny's side as his literal shadow, unless Johnny gives him a command. He also moves his wheelchair around, suggesting he genuinely views Johnny as a friend.
Danny Phantom
Unlike his partner-in-crime, Shadow has a more hostile relationship with Danny. While Johnny's relationship with Danny mellows over the series, Shadow dosen't hesitate to attack Danny when ever he sees him.
Powers
- Bad Luck Inducement: Shadow's powers all center around bad luck. When he passes through an object, it breaks, falls apart, or otherwise malfunctions.
- Flight, Invisibility, Intangibility, and Spectral Body Manipulation: Standard ghost powers. Being an animate shadow he is able to easily mold and contort his body. At one point he demonstrated the ability to completely consume Danny within his body. Shadow can also apparently create at least one clone of himself by physically splitting, unlike most duplicate users. But it possible he was splitting his body as Danny did in Beauty Marked when fighting Prince Aragon.
- Immortality: As a shadow, Shadow showed no signs of aging, as in The Ultimate Enemy. While Johnny 13 showed signs of aging Shadow apparently didn’t age.
- Reconstitution: As a living shadow, Shadow continuously reconstitutes himself, as he is often damaged or destroyed in battle, whenever he fought Danny. Shadow is one of the small number of ghosts that can easily reform after being blown or shattered into pieces. However, not even his fast regeneration could withstand Danny's Ghostly Wail which left Shadow and the others nearly destroyed or in Shadow's case, he was almost completely killed, if Danny didn't stop and run out of energy.
- Supernatural Strength: Shadow is consistently shown to give Danny trouble during their physical altercations.
- Supernatural Durability: Being a shadow, Shadow is durable to all attack however bright light and water is able to weaken and dissipate him.
Weaknesses
- Bright Light: Strong, bright lights such as movie theater projectors, floodlights, and unnaturally strong ecto-blasts cause him to weaken and dissipate.
- Water: When doused in water, Shadow becomes weakened and dissipates. However, after a period of recovery, he can survive in water.
